Valentine's Day is a perfect time to unwind with your significant other. After you go out to eat and exchange gifts why not cuddle up and watch a romantic movie or two? Below are a few of our favorites here at the Latin Post.

Notting Hill

What can be more romantic than a Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts movie? Hardly anything, because their film Notting Hill is so sweet. The premise of the film goes something like this: average middle-class bookshop owner (Grant) meets world famous, A-list movie star (Roberts) and they become inseparable. 

Still unsure that this film is perfect for Valentine's day? Notting Hill was both widely seen and critically acclaimed upon it's release in 1999. So you don't have to worry about it being a dud.

Pretty Woman

Pretty Woman is perhaps the most important movie on this list for the simple fact that it launched Julia Roberts' Hollywood career. Two decades later she is still one of the highest paid actresses in Tinseltown despite being in her 40s, which unfortunately is considered old in showbiz.

If you don't know the what Pretty Woman's about, let me catch you up. Roberts plays Vivian Ward, a broke hooker desperate for money. She's solicited by Edward Lewis (Gere), but not for sex. Lewis simply wants to spend time with a beautiful woman and the mismatched pair fall in love.

Sleepless in Seattle

The late Nora Ephron had a heck of a decade. From 1983 to 1993 she received three Oscar nominations for her romantic comedies. The last of those three, Sleepless in Seattle is the best of the bunch. It's a 90s classic. Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan star.

Brokeback Mountain

Known as the "Gay Cowboy Movie" for better or worse, Brokeback Mountain is a timeless love story that quite simply works. Set in the American West during the mid 1960s to early 1980s the film portrays the complicated, ever-evolving relationship between Jack Twist (Jake Gyllenhaal) and Ennis Del Mar (Heath Ledger). 

They are cowboys by day and lovers by night. They begin their relationship unmarried, but along the way they get hitched. The heartbreak and reconciliation that follows these two characters throughout Brokeback Mountain is truly touching.

Moulin Rouge!

Moulin Rouge! is a love story as only Baz Luhrmann could tell it. The visionary director creates an unforgettable version of Paris, the "City of Light." The film stars Ewan McGregor as a poet and Nicole Kidman as a sickly cabaret star.
