Porsche 911 Turbo S 2017 Unveiled
Porsche's 2017 911 Turbo S has been spotted running at the Nurbugring and by the looks of it, the newly redesigned vehicle will not disappoint drivers and car enthusiasts.
In July this year, the German luxury carmaker revealed photos of the standard version of its redesigned 911. The vehicle that was spied during that time featured upgrades on its lights, bumpers and hardware.
In the recent photos taken of the 911 Turbo S, the car can be seen sporting LED daytime lights and a change in the way the headlights and taillights were fixed is noticeable on the car's case. Even the front bumper of the vehicle looks a bit different while the rear bumper dons "restyled vents" at the corner, noted Auto Blog.
Based from the photos of the standard version seen earlier this year, the new 911 Turbo S has an "aggressive body kit, wider rear arches with a large air intake along the leading edge," said Car Advice.
Porsche also decided to add a dual-plane spoiler in the rear while the sides of the windows have been decked in chrome. The 911 Turbo S also comes with "sportier" wing mirrors that add definition to the overall look.
Auto Guide also reported that even the car door handles have been upgraded as well as the grille on the engine's trunk lid.
While the body of the car received a lot of changes, the highlight of the redesigned 911 Turbo S can be found under the hood.
It is rumored that the German carmaker will add more horsepower to the vehicle and the other future cars in the 911 range.
Meanwhile, Auto Bild said that Porsche have decided to place a 3.0-litre turbocharged flat-six engine in both the base and step-up models of the 911 S line-up. This will replace the 3.4-litre naturally aspirated six-cylinder boxer engine that the current models have.
The addition of the turbo engine is said to push the power of the sports car up to 272kW for the base model. This gives an increase of about 15kW of power compared to the current naturally aspirated six-cylinder engine.
On the other hand, the 3.0-liter turbocharged flat-six engine will replace the 3.8-litre naturally aspirated flat-six in the 911 S model. This will increase the car's power to 309kW from 294kW with the current engine.
It is also rumored that the torque for the 911 S will increase to 500Nm from the current 440Nm.
Porsche's 2017 911 Turbo S will be displayed at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
