Megan Fox, Brian Austin Green Relationship News 2015: Couple Separates After 5 Years of Marriage
A source told People magazine on Wednesday that Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green have decided to separate after five years of marriage and almost 11 years together.
"Megan and Brian have decided to separate," a source close to the couple told People. "They will always love each other very much and are devoted to their kids. Anything could happen in the future, but for now they've decided it's best to take some time apart."
The revelation does not come as a surprise since Fox, 29, and Green, 42, have been living separately and have not been seen in public together for several months.
In an interview last year with Men's Health, the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" star revealed she believes relationships are never perfect.
"You can't live in a fantasyland and think that everything's going to be perfect all the time," she said. "You will go through phases where you're just not getting along. You're not communicating well. That's going to happen, and it's going to feel impossible to you sometimes. It might not even make sense to you sometimes."
Fox added, "Arguments are normal." She also said despite any relationship "difficulties," Green was her "soul mate."
She said the "Beverly Hills, 90210" alum is "definitely meant to be the father of my children."
The actress has also said in interviews that she and Green are "very, very different," which may be a clue to their relationship trouble.
"We are tolerant of each other and we try to be patient with each other, and I don't try to turn him into me and he knows not to try to turn me into him," she told Marie Claire during an interview in 2013.
Green met Fox in 2004 when he appeared on her show "Hope & Faith." He proposed marriage in November 2006, but both agreed to call off the engagement in February 2009.
Despite publicly announcing their split, the pair saw each other regularly. They got engaged again in June 2010 and were married in Hawaii a few weeks later.
Fox and Green have two sons Noah Shannon, 2, and Bodhi Ransom, 18 months.
Green is also the father son Kassius, 13, from a previous relationship with former "General Hospital" and "Beverly Hills, 90210" actress Vanessa Marcil.
