During a segment on #BlackLivesMatter activist Shaun King and the allegation he isn't black at all, CNN host Don Lemon revealed he had spoken to a family member of King's who confirmed he was white.

In the video clip from Wednesday night's edition of "CNN Tonight," Lemon explains his discussion with King.

"A family member tells CNN that both of King's parents are white," Lemon said on Wednesday night's edition of CNN Tonight.

Lemon said when he asked King if he is legally black or white, initially he did not answer. "Later, he referred to himself as biracial," said Lemon.

"When I asked him if that is what it shows on his birth certificate, I did not hear back from him. No answer on that."

On Twitter, he's described himself as "mixed with a black family."

King has also been accused of lying about a racial hate crime that happened during his time in high school. The same family member told Lemon the high school incident was racially motivated because King was "a white guy dating a black girl."

Latin Post reported early Thursday morning that the 35-year-old civil rights activist has been accused of fabricating that he's African-American so that he could obtain a leadership scholarship sponsored by Oprah Winfrey to attend the renowned black Morehouse College.

King has vehemently denied that he lied about his race via Twitter posts.

King has insisted he is the biracial son of a white mother and an African-American father; however, Breitbart independently acquired a copy of his birth certificate from the Kentucky Office of Vital Statistics, which names a white man as his father.

Breitbart also published a 1995 police incident report that identifies King's ethnicity as white.

King has been a high-profile activist against "police brutality" in the Black Lives Matter movement and has acted as a "justice correspondent" for the liberal Daily Kos website. Daily Kos told Rebel magazine in 2012 that he was biracial.

"Moving forward, I'm gonna work, stronger, harder, bolder than ever. My life may be your trending topic but I live this. Done addressing it," King tweeted on Wednesday.
