The NBA regular season has not started. Yet, LeBron James is said to be the favorite to win the MVP Award instead of last year's winner, Stephen Curry, according to forecasts from ESPN and NBA.com. The two websites named the top five possible winners for next year's MVP.

LeBron James – Cleveland Cavaliers

LeBron has been a consistent and unstoppable force in the league. King James, 30, has already won four MVP trophies. His first season back in Cleveland started slow, then gained momentum, but came up short against a healthy Warriors team.

Now that Kevin Love has re-signed, and Kyrie Irving is healthy, The King is looking forward to entering the finals. During last year's NBA Finals, LeBron said that he's the "best player in the world," per CBS Sports; and it's true and enough to win him the MVP next season

Anthony Davis – New Orleans Pelicans                        

The Brow put up a monster season last year in terms of statistics. According to NBA.com, he had the 11th best PER (30.81) of all time, behind Wilt Chamberlain, LeBron James and Michael Jordan.

The 22-year-old big man continues under a new coach, Alvin Gentry. According to CBS Sports, the new coach has already added a corner three-point shot in Davis' range as well as an improved low-post game, according to another report from NBA.com.

Nola reported that Davis just signed a five-year, $145-million contract with the Pelicans. Now that his locked in the team for the long term, is his talent enough to dethrone Steph Curry as the MVP?

James Harden – Houston Rockets

Harden almost won the MVP last season as he carried the Rockets because many players were out nearly half the season.  

The Beard played the point, scored, was clutch and even improved his defense. He won the NBPA MVP last season. Harden is also one of the favorites for this year's league, per Yahoo.

Kevin Durant – Oklahoma City Thunder

Durant was the MVP two years ago. However, last year, Bleacher Report said that it was a lost season for Durant as he underwent three surgeries for his broken foot.

As KD recovers from his injury, he is playing to prove himself and earn money. His free agency after next season will be the most talked about topic in the league. 

Stephen Curry – Golden State Warriors

NBA.com reported that the reigning MVP put up crazy numbers last year and made it look so easy. Winning 67 games with the Warriors was his advantage over Harden in winning the MVP.

Just being the MVP last season is enough for Curry to be named one of the favorites to win this year.
