Jeremy Lin News: Top 5 Best Plays & Moments of Lin's NBA Career [WATCH]
It feels like so long ago that the New York Knicks were a competitive basketball team with Jeremy Lin running the point. It honestly wasn't that long ago that they were in the playoffs thanks to the versatile point guard. Since the 2012-13 season, NBA fans have had plenty of "Linsanity" moments.
Here are some of the most notable moments of Lin's NBA career.
5. Lin Crosses up Rubio for the Alley-oop Assist
This was a great move, and possibly his most underrated. Jeremy Lin has underrated passing skills, and he put them on display for the Knicks in this game. In this play, Lin was guarded by Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Ricky Rubio one-on-one at the perimeter. Lin proceeded to drive with his left hand, and instead of finishing with a slam dunk or layup, he fooled his opponents by throwing up a pinpoint pass alley-oop to center Tyson Chandler. Not many remember it, but Lin and Chandler worked very well together while Carmelo Anthony and Amar'e Stoudemire were sidelined with injuries.
4. Lin Erupts for 34 and 11 Against 76ers
Lin had one of his best all around games in this one. Unfortunately, it just wasn't enough, as the Philadelphia 76ers went on to defeat the Houston Rockets in overtime, 123-117. Lin scored 34 points and had another 11 assists in this game, which was played on the road, including a ridiculous layup. Lin played 49 minutes, making more than half of his shots, but the Rockets just didn't have an answer to stop the 76ers offense. Lin was able to knock down a clutch three point shot to cut the deficit to just two points with nine seconds left, but the 76ers never gave up that lead.
3. Lin Scores 38 for Rockets in Overtime Loss to Spurs
What a Texas duel this one was. Lin and the Rockets took on the best team in the Western Conference, the San Antonio Spurs. It was early in the season and the Spurs were a dominant 17-4. This offensive showdown saw the two teams tied after four quarters of play, and the game eventually went to overtime with the Spurs winning, 134-126. This game had a great point guard matchup between Tony Parker and Lin. Lin scored 38 points with seven assists, but it was Parker who had 27 points and 12 assists.
2. Lin's Three Pointer Sends the Raptors Back to the Stone Age
What an exciting finish. With the score tied at 87 all, the Raptors had home court advantage, and it looked as if we were heading to overtime. Not so fast. Still with the Knicks, Lin held the ball, draining seconds off the clock, and took a perimeter shot for the win instead of taking a safe two point field goal. The shot went in as Raptors fans stood in disbelief, confused at what they were witnessing. Just 0.5 seconds remained on the clock as the Knicks held on for the win. Lin finished the game with 27 points and 11 assists.
1. Linsanity Hangs 38 on the Lakers
The best performance of Lin's career came against the Los Angeles Lakers at Madison Square Garden. Derek Fisher simply had no answer for Lin that night, as he erupted for 38 points against Kobe Bryant's squad. Lin and Bryant combined for 72 points, but it was Lin who had seven assists to Bryant's one. The Knicks won the game, 92-85. It was their fourth straight victory.
