Léa Seydoux may be in the upcoming "Gambit" movie after all.

According to the Hollywood Reporter the French actress received an offer to star in "Gambit," which is being produced by 20th Century Fox and is the next spin off to the X-Men franchise.

There is nothing confirmed on whether she will actually take the role. At this point the offer has been made, but she can always reject it if she does not like the contract. However, if Seydoux decides to take the role, she will play the head of the Assassin's Guild, a woman named Bella.

Seydoux's profile has risen in the last few years especially after her starry role in "Blue is the Warmest Color," which won the Palme D'Or at the Cannes Film Festival and went on to be nominated for the Golden Globe and the BAFTA. She also starred in the Best Picture-nominated films "The Grand Budapest Hotel" and "Midnight in Paris."

She will next be seen in the upcoming "The Lobster," which premiered at Cannes and won the Grand Jury Prize. She will also be in the next James Bond film, "Spectre." Being the star of the new Bond film has undoubtedly helped the French actress' profile as one capable of taking on a major comic book franchise.

Very little is known about the "Gambit" movie, but it is already confirmed that Channing Tatum ("Foxcatcher, " "21 Jump Street") will star in the leading role and Rupert Wyatt, who directed Fox's "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" and "The Gambler," will helm the film.

The film was written by Josh Zetumer, who based the script on a treatment by Gambit co-creator Chris Claremont. The film is slated to be produced by Tatum, Reid Carolin, Lauren Shuler Donner and Simon Kinberg.

"Gambit," is based on the X-Men character, and the film is said to center around the card-throwing superhero who can manipulate kinetic energy.

The movie is slated for release Oct. 7, 2016.
