Selena Gomez is not happy with the media because she is tired of the Justin Bieber references in magazine headlines.

The 23-year-old singer and actress, who graces the cover of The Sunday Times Style magazine this month, is not happy with the cover. According to MTV, it is not the photo that the star has taken issue with, but with the magazine's redundant headline.

Gomez explained that she is upset that the media keeps using past events in her personal life, her relationship with Justin Bieber in particular, to sell copies or get clicks.

The photo is actually part of a random photo shoot the star did with photographer and makeup artist, Jake Bailey, weeks ago in her backyard.

Gomez took to Twitter to express her disapproval of the headline, which reads "Bye Bye Bieber--Ms. Gomez is ready to take center stage."

"Disappointing seeing interviews I've done recently that sound like the exact same interview I did when I was 16," said the star. Gomez then went on to share that she's ready for people to know the person she is now and not a teenager in a bumpy relationship.

The singer then challenged the media to talk about who she is now, instead of bringing up old news just so that they can get hits on their websites.

While Gomez doesn't make any direct references to the magazine, it is the most recent cover referencing the singer's relationship with Bieber.

Gomez, like many other female stars, is tired of being known for her relationships and of having them being the focus of her interviews, reported The Huffington PostThe singer has made efforts to move on from the now famous relationship with her upcoming album.

The album, titled "Revival," is set to be released on Oct. 9.
