Fantasy Football 2015 Sleepers, Players & Ranking: 5 Underrated Players to Draft This Season
Just a few weeks remain until the 2015-16 NFL season kicks off. It's been more than seven months since Fantasy Football owners were able to compete against one another. It's always critical to find those underrated sleeper players who some people tend to overlook.
Here are five sleepers you should definitely consider for this season.
1. Chris Matthews
The ultimate risk-reward player heading into this season. Chris Matthews has never started a single regular season game in his NFL career. As a matter of fact, he's never even caught a single pass in the regular season. The 25-year-old had an exceptional Super Bowl for the Seattle Seahawks catching four balls for 109 yards and a touchdown. A fluke one hit wonder, or is this the gem among gems? Russell Wilson may just have a great player in this 6-foot-5 wide receiver. Only time will tell.
2. Denard Robinson
Don't expect the Jacksonville Jaguars to go very far this season, or even have a winning record for that matter. Still, Denard Robinson can score some valuable points, and he could be a great waiver wire player throughout the season. Last year Robinson was a great runner accumulating 582 rushing yards and four touchdowns with a 4.3 yard per carry average. Robinson also gets a lot of carries when the game is already over in "garbage time," but as we all know, it all counts toward Fantasy Football scoring.
3. Hakeem Nicks
Remember this guy? Hakeem Nicks used to be known as one of the best wide receivers in the league during his New York Giants playing days, but he's now with the Tennessee Titans. Nicks recently said he's "fully healthy," which is great for rookie quarterback Marcus Mariota. Let's also not underrate the rest of the Titans wide receiver core which consist of Kendall Wright and Nate Washington. Nicks is also in a contract year.
4. Teddy Bridgewater
The usual quarterbacks will go early like Peyton Manning, Aaron Rodgers and Andrew Luck, but don't fall completely asleep on Teddy Bridgewater. The Minnesota Vikings have Adrian Peterson back, which will definitely help Bridgewater. Last season Bridgewater had an 85.2 passer rating in the 13 games he played. He'll have to improve his touchdown to interception ratio. The offseason trade for wide receiver Mike Wallace should help the deep ball threat for Bridgewater and the Vikings big time.
5. Reggie Wayne
He's only been a New England Patriot for about two days, but most fans think he's done. Wayne might have to play a big role early in the season because of so many wide receiver injuries. Aaron Dobson is hurt (shocker), Brian Tyms might be done for the season, Brandon LaFell is on the PUP list, and even Julian Edelman might miss the first game. Wayne is a seasoned veteran who will have to play good early if Jimmy Garoppolo does indeed have to start in place of Tom Brady.
