Madden NFL 16 Gameplay, Updates, Release Date: Game Receives Good Reviews, Patch Coming to Fix Bugs
Madden NFL 16 is receiving excellent reviews from critics. The latest football simulator from EA Sports made some improvements and added some new features.
The first experience that players will get when they start up Madden 16 is a demo of Super Bowl 50, USA Today reports. Madden puts the Pittsburgh Steelers facing the Arizona Cardinals. The player will be able to play a little bit of the demo, and this is where they will learn the new Playmaker controls.
Playmaker controls are designed for both the receivers and the defenders. Players can elect what kind of catch their receiver will attempt when a ball is headed their way. They will choose from a Possession catch, a run after catch and an Aggressive catch. Depending on their choice, a different outcome will result.
On defense, players will have to choose how to defend the ball when it comes their way. A choice from Ball Hawk, Play the Receiver or Swatting the ball down can be made.
On both offense and defense, these Playmaker controls will not guarantee success. If a receiver is in poor position or there is a bad throw, the ball will likely fall incomplete. Defenders might choose to Play the Receiver and lose a jump ball battle, resulting in a big gain for the offense.
In Connected Franchise, players will control an NFL team as either a player, coach or GM. They will be delivered with in-game challenges that can lead to team boosts.
Madden Ultimate Team is back. In this mode, players collect packs of player cards in order to assemble a team. Players will earn better cards by completing achievements in the game.
The brand new Draft Champions will allow players to draft their own team in a 15-round NFL Draft. After the team is drafted, players compete trying to earn Ultimate Team packs.
Although Madden 16 looks to be one of the best Madden games yet, the game has already experienced some bugs.
Some of the errors occurring in the game, according to Gamespot, include random encroachment coming out of the huddle, severe ratings regression in Franchise, ratings being boosted to absurd levels during Franchise games, broken SuperSim that gives QBs a number of carries that rivals starting running backs, custom playbooks not always appearing and draft classes that come in too high in certain attribute categories.
A patch should be coming soon to address these problems and bugs and to create a much smoother Madden experience.
