Robert Griffin III's time with the Washington Redskins appears to be over. In a report from ESPN, front office officials and coaches are ready to trade away the quarterback. The Redskins have talked to other NFL teams but has not found any interested parties.

However, according to ESPN sources, the Redskins' ownership is still not giving their full blessing in trading the franchise's star. Team ownership and management are still deciding the future of Griffin III.

In a different report from ESPN, there are four possible decisions that the Redskins can do: Keep Grifin III as a starter, make him the backup, trade him or release the player. Coaches and front office members are unlikely to start the 25-year-old quarterback because of poor preseason form.

According to Bleacher Report, Kirk Cousins will probably be the starting quarterback against the Miami Dolphins in the coming season opener. RG3 will be a good backup to Cousins and Colt McCoy.

The trade is the most possible scenario, but teams are aware of Griffin III's contract, which guarantees $16.1 million for 2016 if he gets injured. Considering his injury history, it will be very difficult to have such a contract, but no one can deny RG3's potential.

Releasing him will end the whole situation, and the coaching staff along with front office can start rebuilding. If they release him, they will have to pay $6.7 million, reducing their current salary cap of $8.9 million.

Team owner Daniel Snyder and RG3 have formed a friendship as reported by The Washington Post. Former Redskins coach, Mike Shanahan, felt undermined by their friendship, which resulted to him being let go, per a report from USA Today.

According to Bleacher Report, RG3 guided the Redskin to an NFC East Division title and won the NFL Offensive Rookie of the year.

He tore his ACL and LCL in the postseason, as reported by ESPN, and never fully recovered his form. He went 4-12 in his first season under current coach, Jay Gruden.

In an interview with WJLA, Griffin III made a bold statement that caused coaches and teammates to dislike him more. He said, "I feel like I'm the best quarterback in the league and I have to go out and show that. Any athlete at any level, if they concede to someone else, they're not a top competitor, they're not trying to be the best that they can be. There's guys in this league that have done way more than me. But, I still view myself as the best because that's what I work toward every single day."

With the season opener inching closer, the Redskins ownership and the team front office need to make a decision on what to do with RG3 before it causes too much tension.
