Manny Pacquiao vs. Bradley 2: With Fight Date Less than Two Months Away, Who Will Win?
After a controversial match in 2012, Manny Pacquiao and Timothy Bradley will have a rematch on April 12, 2014. This welterweight title bout will be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. This deal was closed when Top Rank was able to make Bradley agree with the terms.
On June 9, 2012, the highly disputed split decision in favor of Bradley made the results very controversial. A lot of observers believed that Pacquiao should have won the fight. The said results caused an outrage on Pacquiao's camp that led to an investigation. The WBO also conducted a separate investigation and sanctioned the 2012 bout as well as the incoming match. Based on the results of their investigation, Pacquiao should have won the match, but Bradley was allowed to retain the title.
According to Bradley, he is prepared for this match and he already has a game plan in order to remove his previous mistakes. He also believes that he is a different fighter than that of Rios whom Pacquiao has recently defeated. He said that Rios was a strong puncher and that Pacquiao was hesitant to engage on him. He on the other hand is a light puncher and will let Pacquiao be more willing to take him out and Bradley will take it from there.
On the other hand, according to Marvin Somodio of Pacquiao's camp, they are confident that Bradley would be mauled on April 12. He said that the fast-paced boxing style of Pacquiao would give Bradley a hard time, despite him being a technical boxer. He is not certain, though, if Pacquiao can take it out via knockout, but he is confident that Bradley will suffer a lot. He also admitted that Bradley has a strong chin and has a good ability to create counter punches. Therefore, Pacquiao's victory will not come easy. On their camp, more serious preparation and game plan are underway.
The world will definitely await the upcoming rematch and find out who remains supreme in the boxing ring.
