'Star Wars: Battlefront 3' Gameplay & Release Date:New PS4, Xbox One & PC Game Won't Be a 'Battlefield' Clone
The reboot of the iconic "Star Wars Battlefront" is nearing its launch and every day brings new details of the best-selling game.
Electronic Arts (EA) and DICE are working hard to hype up the major offering, while keeping most details heavily guarded. Because of the secrecy, many gamers turned to speculations regarding the upcoming "Star Wars Battlefront".
DICE gained acclaim with the fast-paced shooter "Battlefield." With the new, similarly named "Star Wars Battlefront" at the helm, fans are expecting an experience that is much like the former. Fortunately, the team came forward to dispel the notion of another "Battlefield" masquerading as "Star Wars".
According to Game Rant, the latest issue of the "Official PlayStation Magazine" had DICE general manager Patrick Bach address the fan expectations saying there are no similar systems between the two DICE games. "They are as far apart as any shooter would be to any other shooter."
He added, "I think people will be surprised that it's even a DICE game in some cases, but I think that the quality of the game and the quality of the audio, the visuals, the emotion it evokes will hopefully feel very DICE."
Of course, those who have been following the development of "Star Wars Battlefront" closely will not be shocked at the lack of similarities between the "Battlefield" series and the new "Star Wars" game. After all, Bach said as much earlier this summer.
"We have a strong legacy with 'Battlefield', but we did not want this to be a Battlefield game," Bach told The Guardian in an interview last June. "We know that the core audience of a game like this is different to the 'Battlefield' audience. There's a crossover, but 'Star Wars' fans expect a 'Star Wars' game, not a 'Battlefield' game. We looked at what 'Star Wars' stands for, rather than asking how can we tweak 'Battlefield' to be something else."
PCGamesN's Joel had the chance to get a glimpse of the new "Star Wars Battefront" at Gamescom.
"It's accessible in a way that piloting 'Battlefield's' vehicles never has been," he said in the website. "Much like the ground game, DICE haven't felt the need to overcomplicate things. Simple, satisfying systems mesh with an incredibly evocative visual and soundscape to make what will surely be the definitive interactive 'Star Wars' experience."
Find out how the two games stand up to each other soon. "Star Wars Battlefront" will be launched on Nov. 17 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
