"Veep" Season 5 will pick up where it left off after both Selina Meyer (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) and Republican opponent Bill O'Brien (Brad Leland) received the same amount of Electoral College votes.

According to Netflix Life, the next season will begin the morning after. The biggest thing from the beginning is to solve the presidency issue. How will it be resolved? Will Meyer eventually lose her seat in the oval office to the charismatic O'Brien?

New showrunner David Mandel has officially taken over for Armando Iannucci and promises to give fans a good show while resolving issues that began in Season 4.

Mandel has not let out any other spoilers for Season 5. We do know that production is moving from Baltimore to Los Angeles for the next season. Writing and editing will be moved to LA as well.

Reports say there will be three holdovers at the start of Season 5 before maintaining a natural flow of things.

Iannucci talked to The Hollywood Reporter about election night in the Season 4 finale.

"On the final night, I wanted to look at the fact that there is complete gridlock in the country in terms of the political dialogues ground to a halt," Iannuci said. "[It's] a country evenly divided between two camps that will not cooperate with each other, and the best way to illustrate that was having an election-night cliffhanger that actually led to complete stalemate."

It is not clear where Mandel will take the next season. If Meyer loses the election, fans might see her opening her own lobbying firm with Ben (Kevin Dunn) in order to compete with Dan (Reid Scott) and Amy (Anna Chlumsky). Or she might just leave politics completely.

"Veep" has won three consecutive Emmy awards for Dreyfus and has a list of several other awards. Iannucci felt it was the right time to leave the show in order to allow for fresh ideas.
