BRIT Awards 2014 Schedule, Performances, and Where to Watch: Beyonce Confirmed to Perform New Live Track at Tonight's Awards Show
It is finally confirmed: After a week of rumors, Beyoncé will take the stage at the BRIT Awards 2014 tonight (Feb. 19) at London's O2 Arena.
The host of the show, actor and comedian James Corden, put an end to the recent rumors by revealing the exciting news during an interview with BBC Radio 2 this morning. "There's this weird thing with this year's Brits where I've been -- more than any other year -- told things I can't say," he said.
"But I figure it's the day," he continued before apparently turning to his producers to make sure that he could make the grand announcement, and then said, "I must be able to tell you? Beyoncé. Beyoncé is performing tonight."
Corden also dropped an important hint saying that the "Partition" singer will be performing a new song that she has never performed live. "She's performing a track she has never ever performed live before. Ever," he said. This obviously means Mrs. Carter won't be singing "Drunk in Love," which she already performed at this year's Grammy Awards with her rapper husband Jay-Z.
In addition, Pharrell, Katy Perry, Arctic Monkeys, Bruno Mars, Ellie Goulding, Bastille and Rudimental are also set to perform at tonight's ceremony, and Lorde will be collaborating with Disclosure for a performing act. There has been a rumor that Prince may make a surprise performance with his band, 3rdEyeGirl, after he played several surprise shows in London last week.
The BRIT Awards will be broadcast live tonight with full coverage on ITV from 8 p.m.-10:15 p.m (3 p.m. U.S.).
