Lindsay Lohan Sues FOX Over Drug Accusations: Lilo Reportedly Denies Doing Cocaine With Dina Lohan
Lindsay Lohan is not a fan of FOX News. New reports say that the young actress has gotten her lawyer involved regarding claims made on the network that she does cocaine with her mother, Dina Lohan.
According to TMZ, host Sean Hannity was discussing celebrities that have faced an early death because of drug use. During the Feb. 4 episode of Great American Panel, panelist Michelle Fields listed Lindsay as a celebrity at risk. Fields also added that Dina is "doing cocaine with her."
In response, Mark Heller, Lindsay's attorney, reportedly wrote a letter to Roger Ailes, Chariman and CEO of FOX News Channel, calling the comment "outrageously slanderous and defamatory."
"Most disturbingly, the Show and commentary seemed to maliciously foreshadow to the viewers that the Commentators could 'see it coming' as a reference to the possibility that ... Lindsay Lohan might inevitably become the next icon to join the infamous obituary list," the letter acquired by TMZ says. "Frankly, this personifies the horrifying media distortion which may very well have disheartened, disturbed, depressed and instigated some of the victims highlighted during the Show."
The letter cites Great American Panel's references to Philip Seymour Hoffman, Anna Nicole Smith, Heath Ledger, Michael Jackson, Amy Winehouse, Whitney Houston, Cory Monteith and Elvis as a group to which Lindsay should not be attached.
Heller continues by criticizing FOX News for making the situation worse after uploading the episode online. The lawyer insists the video be removed from any blogs and websites.
In May of last year, Lindsay said that she did cocaine "maybe four or five times in my life."
"I don't like it," Lindsay said during an interview for The Daily Mail. "It reminds me of my dad. I took it four times in a period from about the age of 20 to 23, and I got caught twice."
