'Battlefield Hardline' DLC Features: Night Operations, Summer Patch Bring Graveyard Shift, Tweaked Weapons & More [Video]
Fans who think there's nothing more to expect from DICE's "Battlefield 4" are in for a surprise. The game developer has recently released a new expansion pack for the popular video game that will take the players into night adventures, missions and battles.
The announcement was made on the official blog site of the video game. According to the statement released on Battlelog, the developers created the map after many players cried out and pleaded for a new nighttime map to explore.
Based on the title of the new DLC, the expansion pack will only feature nighttime combats and battles in a new location that will arrive exclusively with the "Night Operations DLC."
One of the pack's features is the new map called Zavod: Graveyard Shift. This location was based from Zavod 311, an abandoned Soviet tank factory from the Cold War era.
DICE ensured that all regular game modes will be playable in the new map. Rush, Conquest, Obliteration, Domination, Team Deathmatch and Gun Master are all supported in Zavod: Graveyard Shift.
However, the developers made changes so that players will be able to fight at night. A new Weapons Present was added to the Gun Master mode so that players can maneuver and use their artillery at night.
Because night mode is different, changes and tweaks to the audio system of the game have been done so that players will be able to know exactly where the sounds, especially the footsteps, are coming from.
Passive and active spotting have also been upgraded, allowing players better chances of flanking and attacking their opponents.
Players will also be able to see and utilize their weapons and devices better in the game with the addition of an improvement pass that gives additional light during nighttime and less during the day.
Night Operations DLC is free and now available on all platforms.
The DLC will roll out alongside a huge Summer Patch that will fix many glitches and bugs that have affected the game.
Among the issues the patch aims to fix are the spawning of a squad mate while under fire in combat and using a pillbox in the Zavod.
Additional upgrades will be seen in the server preset that will now be found on the player's deploy screen. The developers also fixed soldier animations in the title.
For a complete log of the changes in the Summer Patch, a list of the game updates is available via Battlelog.
