Noah New Movie Cast and Premise: What's So Controversial for Christians About Darren Aronofsky's New Film? [TRAILER]
The new bible film "Noah" was directed by Darren Aronofsky; the film is a retelling of the biblical story of Noah's Ark. Noah is known to be a good man living in a cruel world that was dominated with barbarian hordes and warlords. At that time there was no rain and no crops and it seemed that there was no hope left. In this new movie, Noah is portrayed as a healer and a seasoned fighter who has only ever wanted peace for himself and his family.
Noah had been seeing visions every night of an endless flood that symbolizes the destruction of all life on earth. Gradually, Noah understood the message of God that He has decided to punish and kill the men until the last of them. But God told Noah to build an Ark to preserve him and his family on earth.
Many Christians have reacted negatively to this movie because it is not biblically accurate in terms of what Noah and the Ark is. The movie has a political message and it has been used by the director for "personal crusades of over-population and environmentalism," one scriptwriter said in a Christian Post interview.
Christian critics of the film argue that the image of God was distorted from a loving God to an angry God who wants to permanently punish humanity because they have not taken good care of the animals and plants. Noah's image was also changed from a believer and a true worshipper of the living God into a man who was not actually a mage or a Shaman. Sources like the Post are calling the film a deception with its many twists in the movie, most of which are untrue and that 98 percent of people with Christian discernment had been unsatisfied with the film.
