Watch 'Captain America' Star Chris Evans Geek Out Over NFL Quarterback Tom Brady [Video]
Chris Evans has proven once again that he is a total fan of the New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady during an interview with Collider. The "Captain America" star revealed he would be speechless if given the chance to personally talk to the famous football player.
Collider's Steve "Frosty" Weintraub caught up with Evans during a press panel for his directorial film "Before We Go" in Los Angeles for an exclusive video interview (below).
During the interview, the actor was asked if he took on the director's chair so he can get exclusive perks or VIP treatment at Boston's Fenway Park and at the New England Patriots Gillette Stadium. The actor laughed off the question then replied, "Clearly, that's the agenda."
According to the Collider interview, Evans hoped that being a Hollywood director would somehow help him fulfill his dream of meeting the National Football League star.
"It was really just a way for me to maybe meet Tom Brady someday, that's it," Evans told Steve, coupled with a cheeky smile.
Steve mentioned actor Mark Wahlberg being like BFFs with Brady, to which Evans replied, "I know they're in there it's driving me crazy."
Evans, whose Hollywood stardom sky-rocketed after taking on the role of the Marvel superhero "Captain America" in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, further expressed his desire and eagerness to meet Brady after Wahlberg's name was mentioned as having close ties with the football player.
"I gotta meet the guy," he told Steve during the interview, then admitted that he has never really met Brady up close before.
The actor said he recalled seeing Brady from a far distance only, but did not approach him for fear of not knowing what to say. When Steve suggested that Brady is someone Evans could be "geeking out over," the actor replied that he "wouldn't even know how to handle" himself if face-to-face with Brady.
Evans is a loyal fan of Brady that he even appeared on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" to show his support for the New England Patriots quarterback during the time he was facing the deflategate case.
According to Hollywood Life, the actor, along with Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, participated in a skit called "I am The Locker Room Guy" to bring humor to the case and defend Brady. In the video below, Chris is seen wearing a fake moustache as he tells the audience to "leave Tom Brady alone. "
