Xbox One Update: 'Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens' Controllers Release Date, Price & More Details Announced
Xbox is getting an update, at least where their controllers are concerned.
According to TechFrag, Xbox is following suit after Sony's PlayStation 4 recently launched their "Star Wars Battlefront" themed consoles. The said Xbox update is in the form of their console's controllers wherein they will don the "Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens" theme.
The theme comes in four variants mainly Stormtrooper, BB8, X-Wing and Kylo Ren, all of which are not official releases by Microsoft, but is instead a product of PowerA, a company that is known for their MOGA line of controllers.
The controllers will be available in North America starting Sept. 11 and will be exclusively distributed by GameStop Stores. If you're wondering whether they are wireless or not, unfortunately, they come with cables and is set for the price of $49.99. This gives these cool controllers a cheaper market price with the same level of performance.
According to Attack of the Fan Boy, the "Star Wars 7" controllers are likely to be $1 cheaper compared to the regular Xbox controller, which also means that it will come as $100 cheaper compared to the Elite controller of the Xbox gaming console.
If it's any consolation, the controller's cable sets 9.8 feet in length, giving the player enough freedom to space up the gaming room. The "Star Wars 7" controllers are also Xbox exclusives with no hints of Gamestop releasing any PlayStation 4 version of the design. Players can choose which design they want, all featured at the Gamestop hub.
In the same post by TechFrag, the PowerA manufacturer is also contemplating on introducing another set of controllers based on Captain Phasma, but will be made available for EB Games only instead of Gamestop.
The latest Xbox controller themes are all officially licensed with images coming from the "Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens" movie.
If you feel your Xbox controller is rather bland, and you need to make your gaming even more interesting, head on to Gamestop for these cool Xbox controllers.
Meanwhile, Attack of the Fan Boy also said that Sony is set to release their version of "Star Wars" gaming console featuring Darth Vader in a PlayStation 4 bundle.
If it pushes through, this will be their second time to release a "Star Wars" themed gaming console wherein their first feature is a gaming console wrapped under the "Star Wars Battlefront" theme.
