Top 10 Most Viewed Games on YouTube for August 2015 Named
Video games present a unique blend of enjoyment and escapism to gamers, no wonder it has been a common pastime for people of all ages since the 1970s. However, with the onset of YouTube, watching other gamers play video games has become as fulfilling as manning the controls yourself.
Recently, Kotaku disclosed the latest list of trending video games on YouTube. To say that the likes of PewDiePie and Markiplier had an influence on the newest statistics would be a deep understatement.
As for the list, here are the top ten most viewed video games on YouTube for August 2015:
1. "Until Dawn"
2. "Call of Duty Black Ops III"
3. "Madden NFL 16"
4. "Pac-Man 256"
5. "Superhot"
6. "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain"
7. "Super Mario Maker"
8. "Gears of War"
9. "H1Z1"
10. "World of Warcraft"
On top of the list is the recently released horror survival game from Supermassive Games. "Until Dawn" utilizes the "Butterfly Effect" mechanics, which basically means each player action will have serious in-game repercussions later on.
"Call of Duty: Black Ops III" is a no-brainer on the list. The upcoming installment in the CoD series has been heavily anticipated ahead of its Nov. 6, 2015 release on the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows, per Latin Post.
EA Sports' next-generation football flagship presents gamers with improved quarterback mechanics as well as touch and roll passes. These are only some of the game's new controls, which also features a revamped risk-reward catch and defend system. Click here to avail "Madden NFL 16" now.
Sitting at the fourth spot is a classic arcade game with a modern twist. Engadget previously wrote the following about "Pac-Man 256:"
"It [Bandai Namco] recently launched Pac-Man 256, an Android and iOS game that blends old-school gameplay with the endless runner format that you've seen in big-name smartphone titles like Temple Run."
The fifth most viewed game on YouTube for August 2015 is "Superhot", an upcoming first-person shooter by independent game developer known as the "SUPERHOT Team".
The titles from six to 10 come off as no surprise, except maybe for "H1Z1." The lesser known title from Day Break Company might have skyrocketed itself onto the list due to its emphasis on multiplayer coop, trading and teambuilding, which gamers might have evoked YouTube for guidance.
As noticed, some of the titles listed above have not been released yet. They just have to be popular and highly anticipated enough that viewers find them appealing.
