A new App Store is coming from Apple and it is for the brand new Apple TV, giving users more options on the device.

There wil be a focus on third party apps for the Apple TV, making it even more interactive than ever before, The Verge reports. Gaming will gain more focus, as per the revelations from Wednesday's Apple Event.

Apple TV owners will be able to play multiplayer games and interact with the screen with the new and improved Apple TV remote. Apple wants the same people who download games for their iPhone and iPad to start playing games on their TV.

Not only will Apple TV users be able to play games, but they will also be able to shop right from their couch and track their favorite teams. A demonstration of the MLB At Bat app was shown at Wednesday's event.

The Apple TV will be launched in October and its two models cost $149 for the 32GB and $199 for the 64 GB.

Prior to all of the announcements on Wednesday, the main Apple App Store encountered some changes.

Apple's online store closed Wednesday morning as the company prepares for their special event.

CNet reports early Wednesday morning, Apple shut down its online store due to the company's upcoming press event scheduled for 1 p.m. ET. This is a normal process for Apple whenever they have a major event or announcement.

When visiting the Apple Store online customers saw the message "We'll be back. We're busy updating the Apple Store for you and will be back soon." 

Customers were still able to browse the Apple Store, but not be able to buy anything. Once the event ended, the Apple Store went back online and the new products announced at the event were added to the site.

Wednesday's Apple event featured new iPhones, iPads and an update to Apple TV. Usually The company announces the iPhones and the iPads at separate events, but this year both were announced at the same event.

The press event was focused on the updates to the iPhone 6, which had minor changes and internal improvements. This year's iPhone will be called the iPhone 6s.

The iPhone 6s gets a faster and more efficient processor, a better camera and the addition of 3-D Touch technology. 

The other exciting product at the Apple press event was a brand new large iPad, called the iPad Pro. This 12.9-inch iPad is the biggest tablet released by Apple and it will cost almost as much as Apple's MacBook laptops.

Apple makes about two-thirds of its annual revenue on iPhones, so keeping the smartphones updated is very important. Apple followed customer preferences for larger screens when they increased the screen size of the iPhone 6 to 4.7 inches and the iPhone 6 Plus to 5.5 inches. The iPhone 6s models retained these sizes.
