PS4 vs. Xbox One Games, Sales & Comparison: Microsoft To Lower Price, But Only In One Area Of The World
It looks like the Xbox One will finally get a price cut after all -- but only in a certain part of the world.
Microsoft lowered the price of its Xbox One game console by £30 in the U.K. and the original cost of the game console now can buy you an additional game, Titanfall.
The price cut comes as little surprise since Sony has repeatedly announced better sales numbers for its PlayStation 4 game console than its Microsoft counterpart has with the Xbox One. Could this be a sign that Microsoft is starting to get worried and desperate for sales?
"No, I don't think so," Microsoft's Harvey Eagle said, according to Metro.co.uk. "For us this is about giving UK gamers the best value that we can. We think that that starts with the announcement of this new price point, at 399. It continues with the inclusion of the hottest game of this new generation, in Titanfall, which is now included in the box at no additional cost."
Eagle went on to highlight only the positive side to Microsoft's Xbox One sales in the U.K.
"And I would also say that this has been our most successful Xbox launch ever in the U.K. I think that we can already see that both platforms are commercially successful, that's great for the industry, but we're only a few months into a generation that is going to last for many years to come."
Regardless of what anyone says, Microsoft has been a step behind Sony in the gaming war but it hasn't been incredibly significant. Both companies are enjoying solid sales numbers -- even if Sony is doing even better -- and the competition is welcomed by gamers who want some different options when it comes to gaming platforms.
