WWE: 'The Undertaker' Won't Retire after WrestleMania 32 in Dallas?
A lot of WWE fans thought that The Undertaker would retire following WrestleMania 30 where he was conquered by "The Beast" Brock Lesnar. It was the first time that "The Deadman" lost at at WrestleMania, making his record 21-1 at that time in 2014.
The Undertaker did not appear on WWE television for a year until he returned at this year's WrestleMania in San Francisco to face "The Eater of Worlds" Bray Wyatt. The Undertaker was in better in shape and won the match to have a WrestleMania record of 22-1.
The 50-year-old WWE legend then appeared at the WWE Battleground, attacking Brock Lesnar as he was on the verge of winning the WWE title from Seth Rollins. This eventually led to a match at this year's SummerSlam with The Undertaker winning in a controversial fashion as he put "The Beast" to sleep via "Hell's Gate" submission hold. It is the first singles win of The Undertaker against Lesnar.
Inquisitr reports that many expect The Undertaker's last match would take place in his home state of Texas at next year's WrestleMania. However, that is not the case now as Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling News Observer Newsletter reports via Inquisitr that The Undertaker has no plans of retiring at the moment.
WWE Hall of Fame announcer Jim Ross also thinks that "The Deadman" and rumoured WrestleMania 32 opponent Sting won't retire at next year's "Showcase of the Immortals" in Dallas. In his blog J.R.'s Place, Ross said that, "From what I can determine, Wrestlemania Texas will NOT be the Undertaker's final match but the jury is still out on whether it will be Sting's last one. No, I don't see them having a match vs each other there either. Plus, I don't see how WWE gets all the way to April for the Taker vs. Lesnar 'rubber match' if that's in the card."
SE Scoops reports that Ross is a good friend of The Undertaker so his statement regarding the retirement plans has basis. As for the rumoured match between The Undertaker and Sting, SB Nation reports that the plans for the match are "likely dead."
If that is not enough to think that The Undertaker is not retiring any time soon, What Culture reports that there are some clues why he won't retire in Dallas next year. One is that "The Deadman" worked more dates than he has the past half decade and will be appearing in WWE's Mexico Tour next month, as reported by 24Wrestling.
Other clues include that he is in the best shape of his career in years, there's a possibility of wrestling against John Cena and that WWE still needs him.
