GTA 5 Online Cheats & Update: Patch 1.1 Bug Resets Players’ Game Progress
Grand Theft Auto 5 patch 1.1 gamers are complaining about a bug they encountered while playing the game. Cinemablend reports the bug in the patch resets their progress in GTA 5 Online.
One player posted on Rockstar's support page, "After the update, and the problems known to your cloud server, my rank has been reset to level 1. GTA Online has loaded the initial tutorial and saved my profile. I opened a support ticket a week ago but I have not had an answer nor a solution."
A representative from the developer responded to the complaints by issuing out Reputation Points boost. In order to claim these boosts, players need to restart their game consoles and log in with their preferred character.
The representative issued the statement, "Once you gain the RP boost and play in free roam for some time (usually 15-30 minutes) you will get back your unlocks and be able to access your previous assets such as houses and cars."
Rockstar also advised players that if they want to log out of GTA Online, they need to exit to Story Mode first to automatically save their progress before turning off their consoles. Failure to do so may result in unlocked items and recent purchases not being saved or preserved.
Patch 1.1 was released a couple of week ago with the Valentine's Day Massacre DLC in an effort to fix several other glitches in the game ranging from changes in the characters' appearance to duplicate vehicles, and a way for players to exploit the Reputation Points.
The latter could cause serious issues for the developer since it could affect their sales from in-game to real-world transactions. But of course, Rockstar has taken the necessary steps to identify exploiters and reprimand them for their actions.
