The Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants will square off in the first Sunday Night Football game of the season. What better way to start off Sunday Night Football than with a game between two NFC East teams who can't stand each other.

It's only one game, but as we all know, divisional matches matter the most.

Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys are the defending NFC East champions, but nothing is a given in this division. The NFC East has had four different winners in the last four seasons. Last year Tony Romo had maybe the best season of his career, but the Cowboys did have the leading rusher in DeMarco Murray, who broke Emmitt Smith's franchise rushing mark.

Dez Bryant has a new deal, and this passing attack is one of the best in the league. Tom Coughlin and the Giants will be focusing on Bryant, but Terrance Williams is a very underrated wide receiver, who had eight touchdown catches last season. Cole Beasley will make the underneath catches to help move the chains. The Cowboys have the best offensive line in the NFL with Tyron Smith leading the way.

Last season the Cowboys swept the Giants in two high scoring games, 31-21 and 31-28. As a matter of fact, the Cowboys have won the last four games against the Giants, scoring at least 24 points in all four of those games and 31 points in three of those matches.

The Cowboys' season ended in disappointment last year with a loss to the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Division round, after Bryant dropped the ball in the fourth quarter. Yes, he dropped it. The first step for the Cowboys to getting back to the playoffs is to win their first divisional game. Greg Hardy will not be playing because he is serving a four-game suspension.

New York Giants

The Giants know they're the underdogs in this game, and it will take every bit of Coughlin and Eli Manning to overtake the Cowboys. Unfortunately for the Giants, wide receiver Victor Cruz will not be on the field because of a calf injury. Odell Beckham Jr. will more than likely get double-teamed on multiple occasions.

Manning and the Giants offense will have to put up some big points, as the defensive unit doesn't show much promise. Last season the Giants ranked 29th in totals yards allowed, 18th in pass defense, and 29th in rush defense. Lawrence Taylor won't be suiting up on Sunday for Big Blue. The Cowboys won't have Murray carrying the ball, but the Giants' shaky defensive line still has a lot to get prepared for against Joseph Randle and a powerful front five.

Jason Pierre-Paul, who had 12.5 sacks last season, obviously won't be playing. Hopefully he'll have different ideas next Fourth of July.

The biggest thing to watch for the Giants will be the offensive line. The Giants offensive line was terrible last season, not giving Manning time to throw or providing any holes for running backs. Rashad Jennings and Andre Williams are both talented backs, but they haven't shown they can thrive behind this shaky line.

The Giants will have to win the special teams game if they want to come out of this one victorious. Dwayne Harris, who played the last four seasons with the Cowboys, may just be the X factor.

Schedule

The Giants and Cowboys will play each other on Sunday, Sept. 13 at 8:30 p.m. EDT at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The game will be shown on NBC. You can watch a live game stream here.

Prediction

The Cowboys have won the last four meetings, they're at home and the Giants are pretty banged up. The Giants offensive line and defense have been a terrible matchup against the Cowboys lately. We may be in for a high scoring game, but the Cowboys should walk away with the win.
