Google Glass Price, Review, Release Date, Specs: Woman Attacked For Wearing Glass; What Did She Do?
People who wear Google Glass in public are going to have to start becoming a bit more aware of their surroundings.
A California woman was in a bar in San Francisco over the weekend when a man allegedly attacked her for reasons stemming from the Google Glass device she was wearing.
"OMG so you'll never believe this but... I got verbally and physically assaulted and robbed last night in the city, had things thrown at me because of some *** Google Glass haters ..." she wrote on her Facebook page.
A witness, Brian Lester, told CBS San Francisco that the bar might not have been the best place for the woman to start showing off her Google Glass.
"You know, the crowd at Molotov's is not a tech-oriented crowd for the most part," Brian said to CBS. "It's probably one of the more punk rock bars in the city. So you know, it's not really Google Glass country."
Despite the fact that the alleged attacker may have crossed the line, Lester said he understands how it all started.
"I think everybody was just upset that she would be recording outside of a bar this late with obvious embarrassing behavior going on," Lester added. "And just rather insulted that someone thinks it's okay to record them the entire time they're in public."
Lester was referring to the fact that Google Glass has the ability to record everything in sight, from an eye-level perspective, and bystanders really have no way of knowing whether or not the Google Glass is recording or not.
What do you think about people wearing the Google Glass in public? Do you think it should just be in private or will people start getting used to the idea of everything being recorded as long as it remains in public view? Let us know what you think in the comments section below.
