Selena Gomez admits she hasn't completely given up on Justin Bieber.

In the new issue of Elle Magazine, the "Same Old Love" singer shares she isn't ruling out yet another possible reconciliation with the 21-year-old bad boy crooner.

"I'll forever support him and love him in a way," she said. "We grew up together. I think people want it to be different...[but] I respect him. And I think he respects me, in a healthy manner."

The two previously dated from 2011 to 2014, seemingly with more stops and starts than anyone can keep count of without the aide of a calculator. And though she admits to being tired of that sort of drama, it seems just as clear that she hasn't completely gotten Bieber out of her system.

"I don't know," she said when directly asked if she and Bieber might give things another try. As for the "Same Old Love" ballad many have interpreted as some sort of ode to Bieber, she added, "It's not necessarily about a specific relationship. Sometimes you're stuck in the same cycle. This is kind of my 'forget it' song. I'm sick of all of it."

Gomez openly talks about also having grown weary of everyone seemingly taking everything she says and does as some sort of reference to her ex. Her performance of "The Heart Wants What It Wants" at last year's American Music Awards stands as her Exhibit A.

"Everybody was talking about the same thing: my relationship," she said.

"I was so exhausted. I said, 'I want this [performance] to be the last time I have to talk about this.' And acknowledge this feeling. I was kind of devastated. I was like, 'This is all I have right now. This is gonna be it.' And all I want is to move on."

The Elle magazine issue hits newsstands on Sept. 22.
