‘The Daily Show’ Host Trevor Noah Going Colbert, Debuts New Promo for Show [Watch]
Since the departure of Jon Stewart from "The Daily Show" last month, the new host Trevor Noah has been making strides getting his name out there and promoting his new show.
According to Deadline, that also means going on former "Daily" alum Stephen Colbert's late night show as well.
Colbert is apparently throwing his former bosses over at Comedy Central a bone and booked the new host Noah for some early exposure on the late night comedy show.
The booking couldn't possibly be better timed with the recent airing of the Republican National Debate on CNN following the release of Noah's new promo where he had such a hard time remembering who all the candidates were.
The immense number of candidates vying for the republican nomination for president is staggering to say the least. Noah talks with one of his correspondents in comedic fashion for tips on a system that could best help him remember who they are and why they are significant. They even have banter about the relatively small democratic field of candidates.
Discussing the Republican National Debate on Colbert is what most had come to expect, given that republicans are so often the target of "The Daily Show."
When Colbert himself had his own show on Comedy Central, "The Colbert Report," he also targeted republicans, but in a satiric way in which he comically portrayed himself as a republican with ironic twists of making sense of certain topics in a de-humanizing way.
But the two teeing off on the Wednesday debate was pretty much a guarantee for the episode.
Colbert will also be hosting U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon for the episode and it has the potential for explosive laughter.
Needless to say, Noah will have his work cut out for him if he wants to fill the satire show's main topic that was so prevalent to Stewart on the show. See the comical promo for "The Daily Show" below.
