'Dark Souls 3' PS4, Xbox One, PC Release Date in North America Confirmed
From Software's "Dark Souls" video game series presents a surprising combination of gore and artistry that fans have come to enjoy.
"Dark Souls 2" was released in March 2015. The Tokyo-based gaming studio has since followed it up with the solo title "Bloodborne," which in many respects has the same formula featured in the "Dark Souls" series.
In a previous Latin Post article, the success of "Bloodborne" has pushed developers to release the game's first expansion pack on Nov. 24.
"Bloodborne" is brutally addictive in its own right; yet, "Dark Souls" fans just couldn't help but speculate on what the next "real" "Dark Souls" game will be like.
Good for them, "Dark Souls 3" is in the works and From Software has revealed when fans can be mercilessly punished for their mistakes again.
From Software recently announced that "Dark Souls 3" will be available in April 2016, Game Rant reported.
The next iteration of the "Dark Souls" game will reportedly immerse gamers in a brand new artistic world (or underworld) infested with new albeit disturbing enemies.
In Dark Souls 3", gamers must search for the newly awakened Lords of Cinder to uncover the mysteries of the game's apocalyptic environment.
The upcoming game will feature more armor sets, medieval weaponry and magical spells. This wider array of weapons encourages gamers to develop their own unique way of playing the game. To add to the individuality, weapons can also be customized. Each weapon type can be added to attack modifiers, which provide more battle-ready gamers with tactical advantages during combat.
Although the series' landscapes are literally to die for, it's even more interesting to know how From Software will improve upon their already epic combat system.
"I've added the Battle Arts to each weapon. Something similar will be added to spells in the game, and those definitely provide something new to Dark Souls 3," said From Software president Hidetaka Miyazaki via Polygon.
Battle Arts lets players have wider tactical options since it will provide gamers with alternate attacks to different weapon classes. A slightly earlier version of the said combat system is currently featured in "Bloodborne" wherein gamers have to repeat battles for several more times before encounter the same combat animation and AI reaction by an enemy.
As to what can be expected from boss characters, Miyazaki had this to say:
"One of the elements I want to bring to boss character design is contradiction... not just fearful enemies but something more that can be sensed from each boss character."
"Dark Souls 3" will release for PS4, Xbox One, and PC in April 2016.
