PS4 vs. Xbox One Review, Specs, Sales & Comparison: How The Consoles Compare
What are you looking for when it comes time to choose a new game console? Graphics? Gameplay? Multimedia or interactive features?
All of these are factored into a decision to purchase an Xbox One or PlayStation 4, both of which have distanced themselves from Nintendo and other consoles. Although the two are the top options for game consoles, we can break them down even further to help you choose which one you want to go with in the end.
In terms of graphics, the PS4 seems to have a clear edge although it is not necessarily a dealbreaker. On the other hand, the Xbox One has the advantage when it comes to catering to the whole family. The new Microsoft console has been described at times as one that functions almost as an all-in-one gaming and computer platform.
The Xbox One, however, does cost more and it has not had the same amount of success in terms of sales as its Sony counterpart. In addition, the Xbox One has a better reputation for motion control with Kinect, which was initially introduced for its predecessor, Xbox 360.
Reviewers have also given praise to the Xbox One in terms of wi-fi and Internet connections.
"More clear cut is the wireless connectivity situation," Matt Swider said in a review for Tech Radar. "PS4 makes room for Gigabit Ethernet and 802.11 WiFi bands b/g/n, while Xbox One has a clear advantage by including the older 802.11a band and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz channels. PS4 limits connections to 2.4GHz, which is likely to have more interference."
