Carolina Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly has been ruled out of Sunday's game against the Houston Texans.

Kuechly suffered a concussion last week against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Panthers won that game 20-9. It doesn't appear as if Kuechly will miss a huge amount of time, but team doctors want to play this one safe. According to ESPN, A.J. Klein will start for Kuechly on Sunday.

Kuechly has not yet been ruled out for next week, and his status for the next game, against the New Orleans Saints, remains questionable.

This is the first time in Kuechly's career he will not be on the field for the Panthers. Since being drafted by the Panthers in the first round in 2012, Kuechly has not missed a single game. Kuechly has been a terrific defensive player, recording 103, 96 and 107 tackles the last three seasons.
