"The Daily Show" host Trevor Noah went on Colbert last week to promote his show, and the two comedians picked the topic that both have spent years gorging over: Republicans. Of course, both Colbert and Noah come from a network that has capitalized on the insane policies of the party with quick-witted satire and fact analysis, but Noah is still fairly new to the game.

According to Deadline, the incoming host for "The Daily Show," which was previously anchored by the political satirical stalwart Jon Stewart, went on "The Late Show" in an effort to plug his highly touted forthcoming run on the network's powerhouse series.

They opened up the bit with a little comical discourse about their own connections on Comedy Central. Colbert asked Noah about the advice Stewart had given him before taking over.

Although Noah did seem intimidated filling Stewart's seat on the show, he referred to him as "a Jewish Yoda" and added Stewart told him to "trust your discomfort. If you feel uncomfortable, that's the way you should be going."

That line seemed to be pulled right out of a "Star Wars" film and instantly resonated with the audience.

But once they got on to their main topic, the mainstay of their comedy, Colbert asked Noah whether he watched the Republican National Debate the previous night.

Of course Noah had, but there was little to be discussed that he did not find trivial, to say the least. Noah satirized how the Republican candidates evaded the main questions and diverted attention to issues that have been talking points of their party for years now.

Noah's impression not only gave the audience a laugh, but Colbert also responded in his classic style, saying that he "would vote for that person."
