Erotic Photography Improving Couples' Sex Lives
As Valentine's Day recently passed, couples from around the nation may be looking for other opportunities to express their emotions and keep their passion strong.
While a handful of couples may just head to the nearest adult entertainment shop to add spice to their bedroom, some have turned to a new form of amateur pornography or personalized erotic photography.
According to ABC News, for up to $4,000 a session, couples can book Constance & Eric Photography comprised of husband and wife photographers Constance Faulk and Eric Vogel, to capture their most intimate moments.
The photography duo, based out of Brooklyn, says their business and photographs are not porn but art.
"We're kind of proud of what we do, we don't really feel any kind of shame or guilt in what we do," Vogel told ABC Nightline's Linsey Davis.
Couples' reasons to participate in the booming business are for both pleasure and romanticism. Vogel and Faulk give their photographs to the couples after completion and do not publish them for public use.
Vogel and Faulk reveal in an interview with Nerve that they have photographed more than 140 people having sex and that their clientele is vast.
"Our clients do run the full spectrum, which keeps our job fascinating," Faulk said. "Some common traits we see is a respect for art and at least a tiny bit of an exhibitionist side, or a desire to explore that."
To get their clients to open up and feel as comfortable with the process as possible, Faulk and Vogel meet face-to-face with the subjects to just discuss what to expect and get a fell of what the clients want.
"We are both very good at reading people, so that helps a lot," Vogel admits. "We also get them naked and in robes immediately, this way they get used to being out of clothes and passed a lion-share of that vulnerable feeling. Some wine and sexy music doesn't hurt, either."
However, after one awkward encounter where a man's girlfriend was unaware the duo was going to be photographing them having sex prior to their visit, Vogel and Faulk now insist on an initial consultation where all parties are aware and complicit.
Additionally, Faulk and Vogel require all clients to provide proof over being of the age of 20 years old
According to the Nerve report, before finding their knack for erotic portraiture, Vogel began his career as a sports-portrait and still life photographer while Faulk worked as a commercial photographer in the fashion and advertising industry.
