Aaron Paul Jesse Pinkman Character: 'Breaking Bad' Star in Serious Talks With 'Better Call Saul'
Aaron Paul admits that he is where he is in his career thanks to his role as Jesse Pinkman in Breaking Bad. The star who has been promoting his latest film Need For Speed cannot get away from the question that will follow him forever: Will he be playing Jesse Pinkman again?
Aaron Paul said that he is indeed in "serious talks" with show creator Vince Gilligan to appear in the upcoming Breaking Bad spin off Better Call Saul reports The Associated Press. Better Call Saul will be a prequel to the hit series, which will feature Bob Odenkirk as a shady lawyer, Saul Goodman, and it is set to premiere on AMC in November.
"Anything Vince is involved with, I'm there," Paul said. "I owe him my entire career. And the idea of jumping into the skin of Jesse Pinkman again in his lighter days-because it's all a prequel -- it would be fun." Believe us Aaron, we will be happy to see you back manufacturing meth like no one else can.
Gilligan said that he hoped to convince some of Breaking Bad's regulars to join Better Call Saul but understood that, well... he made them all stars so they're all a bit busy. "They're off making big movies and doing Broadway plays and whatnot, and that's exactly the way it should be" Gilligan said. "That is a high-class problem that we will have to contend with as we go forward with Better Call Saul, if we do indeed want to touch base with some of these characters," he proudly added.
Aww, they're like a little family, always nice to see these types of relationships between directors and the actors. It makes great collaborations on future projects. Though spin-offs are always dangerous, we hope that Better Call Saul will be another hit. The show was originally suppose to be a half-hour sitcom before Gilligan and his team settled for an hour-long format. "I just love the character of Saul Goodman so much, and part of me doesn't want to say no to this world" Gilligan said.
Hope to see Aaron Paul, and even Bryan Cranston, pop up in Better Call Saul -- wouldn't that be awesome?
