'Agents of SHIELD' Season 3 Spoilers: Watch the Opening Sequence of 'Laws of Nature' [Video]
In just a few days, "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." will air its first episode for season 3 titled "Laws of Nature," but fans do not need to wait long to see its nearly five-minute opening sequence.
The video showcasing the first few minutes of the third season's premiere episode was featured on IGN.
As expected, the first episode will tackle the major problem being dealt with Phil Coulson's (Clark Gregg) team, which is the rise of several Inhumans due to the spread of the Terrigen mist-contaminated fish oil seen in last season's finale. Terrigen mists enhance the Inhumans making them powered individuals, as seen last season.
In the sequence, the Inhuman Joey (Juan Pablo Raba) was seen able to melt metallic materials and looked confused with his abilities. A non-S.H.I.E.L.D.group, the Advanced Threat Containment Unit (ATCU) headed by Constance Zimmer's character, found him first and wanted to get him in their custody. Then, an amazing display of power from Daisy Johnson/Quake (Chloe Bennet) enable the agency to have him instead. The audience will also be blown away with the new gadgets and technology Coulson's group has in their possession to make things easier for their important mission.
It is also interesting how Mack (Henry Simmons) works along well with Quake in the team's mission of looking for these Inhumans. Executive Jed Whedon stated that this is a new professional relationship on season 3 the viewers should get used to as Mack and Daisy will be like the "Mulder and Scully of S.H.I.E.L.D.," Entertainment Weekly noted.
"The person who's skeptical of alien stuff and the person who has it inside of her," Whedon said.
The clip also gave the audience a sneak peek of how the leader of the ATCU governs her unit. With only a few seconds on the clip, one can easily see Zimmer's character as someone who is very smart, befitting her role. She easily deduced that the Inhuman Joey was extracted and did not just escape.
Executive producer Jeph Loeb was able to get what he wanted in Zimmer's inclusion on the series, which was someone at par with Coulson's level, Marvel informed.
"When casting this role, we needed someone that could go toe-to-toe with Coulson. Constance brings a level of wit and spark to the role we could have only dreamed of," the head of Marvel Television said.
"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." will reportedly return on Sept. 29, Tuesday, at 9:00 PM ET on ABC.
