Director Ridley Scott has officially revealed to the world the next "Prometheus" sequel will already start connecting to the "Alien" franchise with its new title: "Alien: Paradise Lost."

The interview was conducted by HeyUGuys and featured as part of their exclusive for the director and his upcoming film "The Martian," which stars Matt Damon as an astronaut who gets stranded on another planet and is forced to come up with creative ways to survive until help arrives.

Although fans already knew, judging by the ending of the first "Prometheus," that the film and franchise was a prequel to the "Alien" franchise. But fans have been clamoring to find out just how the two franchises would connect.

One thing that's already for certain is that "Prometheus" is an origin story of sorts. Not just an origin story for the famed alien but also an origin story for all of mankind.

The story picks up in the future when a team of scientists discover proof that mankind's creators have left clues as to how to find them. Once they discovered the coordinates, the team bands together and goes out into space for a long journey to find the creators.

But finding their creators turned out be all the answers they didn't want to know about, which included the species that created the alien masses.

Scott had previously said that the two franchises would really start connecting around the third or fourth film, but the new title seems to indicate otherwise.

He also told fans he intends to clearly make this an origin of the alien species franchise to see how the monstrous creatures were created and what led to their uprising.
