Jon Stewart Taped Dancing, Then Getting a Chair to the Stomach [Watch]
Just in case anyone was wondering what retired "The Daily Show" host Jon Stewart is doing with his off time, apparently it is dancing to modern music -- and working with the WWE on charity causes.
The WWE tweeted a video of Jon Stewart taking on a challenge from Ellen Degeneres to post a dance video of him in order to raise awareness for pediatric cancer. Apparently, the satiric comedian was up to the challenge and started dropping his moves to Drake's "Started from the Bottom."
The video took a classically funny turn when a kid, which appeared to be Stewart's son, came out from the sidelines and gave him a chair to the gut, much in the same way a wrestler might do it. This took Stewart down and he only rose long enough to call out WWE's Stephanie McMahon to take Ellen's #JustKeepDancing challenge to raise awareness for the cause.
Of course, the video was a faux parody of wrestling, and it showed fans for the first time that even the king of satire has a few moves under his belt that he can put out on a dance floor, according to The Huffington Post. The chair incident was a throwback to a previous appearance on WWE summer slam, in which Stewart payed the heel, hitting wrestling superstar John Cena in the stomach with a chair.
Although the former "Daily Show" host has been off the air now for over a month, that does not mean he is not keeping busy in the comedy arena. He is currently serving as an executive producer on his good friend Stephen Colbert's "The Late Show" over on CBS.
He has also had a few words of wisdom to give to his successor Trevor Noah over on 'The Daily Show," whose much-anticipated debut will start this Monday night.
Since leaving 'The Daily Show," Stewart has been uniquely involved in more than a few events with the WWE, which he also occasionally interacted with while he was hosting his show as well.
