Season 5 of "American Horror Story" has released a new first-look trailer for the "Hotel" theme, and it is quite revealing.

There are certain elements to the trailer that really get into the depth of horror that the season is going to showcase.

Although most of the hype for this season has been squarely focused on pop singer Lady Gaga making her debut on the popular anthology series, what is also going to be unique about the season is that series alum Sarah Paulson is going to be killed off for the first time on the show.

After getting the first look at Paulson in her made-up character, fans will get a glimpse of her like never before. She has classically played the protagonist or the victim in the previous seasons, which were "Murder House," "Asylum," "Coven" and "Freak Show."

But now, Paulson is set to make her debut as a Sally Hypodermic and her character makeup is somewhat horrifying for fans that have come to see her as the All-American, girl next door type in the series.

Lady Gaga will also be playing a central role in the season, serving as a matriarch, of sorts, to the people in the Hotel. She is the key central figure that glamorizes all the horror present in the show.

Kathy Bates will also be returning and her character has taken on that of what seems to be more of a victim than anything else. The first look trailer features her in a couple of different situations that appear to show her in constant distress for some reason or another.

Creator Ryan Murphy has turned this series into a monster sized powerhouse for the FX network and he is also busy over on their sister network, Fox, recently debuting his other horror show "Scream Queens."
