A 5.2 magnitude earthquake struck near Mexico City Wednesday afternoon. 

According to Reuters, a 5.2 magnitude earthquake struck near Mexico City today, causing buildings to shake and triggering quake alarms. Luis Felipe Puente, the head of Mexico's emergency services, said on Twitter that he had not received any reports of damage to the buildings or the streets affected.

The earthquake sirens actually interrupted a session of the Mexican senate. Check out the video below.

Although no buildings were damaged, many people were evacuated as a precaution. Jason Della Rocca, who is the co-founder of Execution Labs, an accelerator and investment platform for indie game developers, tweeted out a photo of people being evacuated.

Mexico has dealt with earthquakes in the past.

The most deadly earthquake to ever hit Mexico was in 1985. A 8.1 magnitude earthquake shook Mexico City, killing over 10,000 people and injuring 30,000. It is considered to be the strongest earthquake to ever hit the country. After the earthquake, over 3,000 buildings were demolished.

So far, no deaths have been confirmed.
