GTA 5 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One Release Date: New Retailers List Grand Theft Auto V Games for Pre-Order
Is Grand Theft Auto V for PC and next-gen consoles PlayStation 4 and Xbox One finally available for pre-order? Based on some international retailing sites, yes, but the news may be too good to be true.
Despite the fact that Rockstar Games has yet to even acknowledge that they are making a PS4 or Xbox One version of Grand Theft Auto V, new retailers are now taking pre-orders of the game. Eurogamer Portugal reports that Worten is now accepting pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto V for PS4. In addition, GK4.me, a German website, is selling Steam keys for a PC version of Grand Theft Auto V. The latter, however, is raising a red flag for some gamers.
"...the Steam keys have been on sale for the three weeks now," Motoring Crunch reports. "The worrying thing is that when demands are high, the scammers will tend to take advantage of these situations."
These sites are not the only ones claiming to have access to Grand Theft Auto V for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. For the past few weeks, PC gamers have found hope in Amazon, whose Germany store has a listing for Grand Theft Auto V PC, and whose French site used to have the same. Amazon Germany lists Grand Theft Auto V PC at 60 euros and says it is compatible with Windows 7 and Windows Vista but does not list minimum system requirements. In addition, Czech retailer SuperGamer has listings for the game for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. It claims the games will be available starting June 13. Fans say the rumor has at least some credibility as the date is a Friday, a popular day for developers to release games.
It is difficult to put full faith in these retailers, however, as they have been wrong in the past, and neither Rockstar Games nor Take-Two Interactive have said a word about the games, but Motoring Crunch says hope is still reasonable.
"While it might sound fishy ... such a thing makes sense," the website reports. "It could be that Rockstar delayed the PC release due to the platform having a performance similar to the next-gen consoles. Both the Xbox One and PS4 offers high-spec gaming experience and with the PC tagging along, it made things easier for Rockstar to produce GTA 5 for these platforms."
