FOX has recently announced a couple schedule changes to its Thursday night lineup, including American Idol Season 13, which will take over the time slot of low-rated Rake.

The broadcasting television network has made a decision to do a bit of rearranging for the reality-singing competition series to accommodate the upcoming premiere of another competition show, Gordon Ramsay's Hell's Kitchen Season 12, on March 13, as well as the premiere of the new comedy sitcom Surviving Jack two weeks later.

This week, American Idol will still air on Thursday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. ET/PT as usual. However, the week after, the voting results show will be pushed back an hour to 9 p.m. ET/PT starting on March 13. It will still run for one hour from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. ET/PT on March 13 and March 20.

Consequently, Rake starring Greg Kinnear will move to 8 p.m. ET/PT on the next night after its poor performance in the Thursday slot, where it lost much of the American Idol lead-in audience. Friday is one of the least-watched TV nights of the week.

Then, there will be yet another schedule change on March 27 -- the American Idol results show will be downsized to an hour to 30 minutes, running from 9 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. ET/PT, in order to make room for FOX's new comedy series Surviving Jack starring the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit star Chris Meloni, who plays a successful professional man learning how to raise his kids, to air in the 9:30 p.m. ET/PT time slot.
