LG G4 Pro Release Date & Specs: 4GB RAM, QHD Display & More Details Shown in Leaked Benchmark
A freshly discovered benchmark listing has revealed the specs sheet of the LG G4 Pro, the company's rumored next generation flagship phablet.
According to the GFXBench database, the device sports a 5.7-inch QHD display with a five-finger gesture support.
It's powered by Qualcomm's hexa-core 1.8GHz Snapdragon 808 processor with the Adreno 418 GPU and runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. Additionally, the G4 Pro is shown having 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory.
Camera-wise, the unit is fitted with a 15-megapixel main camera with support for touch focus, autofocus, face detection and LED flash. Its five-megapixel front facing unit is listed capable of displaying 2560 x 1920 Full HD videos.
The latest benchmark does not specify whether the G4 Pro will come with a metal or plastic build. However, Fone Arena speculates that LG might be flirting with the former rather than the latter.
Samsung's upgrade to metal and glass for the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge has pushed the rest of the Android pack, especially LG, to follow suit. A metal build will set the G4 Pro exponentially higher in design and prestige compared to the G4, the company's current generation 5.5-inch plastic-build phablet
However, only time can tell whether or not LG has the sufficient capital to accommodate the metal and glass phablet craze. It is worth mentioning that the company experienced poor sales with the G Pro 2, which competed with Samsung Galaxy Note 3 back in 2013.
Rumor has it that the G4 Pro will be introduced during LG's press event on Oct. 10. In the meantime, LG fans might want to check out the company's recently unveiled Google Nexus device. According to GSM Arena, the LG Nexus 5X features following specs:
- 5.2-inch 1080p IPS LCD display
- Qualcomm's hexa-core Snapdragon 808 chipset
- 16GB or 32GB internal storage
- 2GB of RAM
- 12.3-megapixel main camera and a five-megapixel selfie shooter
- Micro-USB Type-C connector
The LG Nexus 5X runs on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow and measures 147 x 72.6 x 7.9m, noticeably slimmer than the LG Nexus 5 (2013). It also weighs 136 grams, six grams heavier than its predecessor. The extra weight is due to the handset's fingerprint scanner and larger 2,700 mAh battery.
The "pure Android" device is now available for preorder in the US, UK, Ireland, South Korea, and Japan starting at $380 for its 16GB variant.
The LG Nexus 5X will be released along with its sibling, the Huawei 6P phablet, sometime in October 2015..
