BBC Sherlock Season 4 Cast & Premier Date: Will It Be Another 2 Years Until Episode 1?
After the shocking ending to Sherlock Season 3, the most thrilling part is finding out when the premier of Season 4 will be. The good news is that it might have a Christmas Day 2014 premiere. The people behind this popular thriller series are trying to work hard to gather everyone again and to start taping the next season.
A British publication revealed that the BBC is fast-tracking the fourth season of Sherlock so that it will have its premiere on Christmas Day. The only problem faced by the crew is caused by the conflicting schedule of the show's main cast members. Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock) and Martin Freeman (Watson) are now making names for themselves; after the success of the last 3 seasons, these stars have shot to stardom and have starred in quite a few films. Cumberbatch starred as a mysterious villain in Star Trek into Darkness and played a supporting role in the Oscars Best Picture, 12 Years a Slave. Freeman, on the other hand, became busy with The Hobbit.
The first three seasons of Sherlock have been successful in getting the attention of its viewers. In fact, in its last season, it has ranked very high on TV ratings, with over 10 million viewers in the U.K. alone. Meanwhile, in the United States, the third season of Sherlock premiered last month and was also raking in high TV ratings. The creators of the show, Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat, have already met to begin planning the fourth and fifth seasons of Sherlock.
The show had an almost two year gap between Seasons 2 and 3. The worst part was that the Season 2 finale left several questions unanswered, especially in regards to Sherlock's fall. If the gap between Season 3 and 4 will just be for a few months, then it is definitely great news for avid fans.
