A well-respected iOS hacker has discovered vulnerabilities in iOS 8.4.1 that could lead to a jailbreak solution that could be used by the general public.

Luca Todesco says his discoveries will lead to a jailbreak tool that can be used by everyone, according to Bidness Etc. Todesco did not say when the jailbreak tool would be available but is encouraging iOS owners to downgrade to iOS 8.4.1 if the have already upgraded to iOS 9.

Todesco urged people to downgrade to iOS 8.4.1 while they still can before Apple stops providing support for iOS 8.4.1 and iOS 9.0 with iOS 9.0.2 coming very soon. iOS 9.0.2 will be the last version of the operating system before iOS 9.1. Once Apple stops providing support for these previous versions of iOS, users will no longer be able to downgrade to the lower versions of the operating system.

Todesco said that his current jailbreak tool should only be used by advanced users and the public version would come later. This means that iOS users with little to no experience with the programming involved in iOS should not install his jailbreak tool. If a novice iOS user tries to use Todesco's jailbreak tool, they could run into technical issues.

The full public release of Todesco's jailbreak tool is coming soon, according to tweets he has sent out.

Todesco is also very active on Reddit, hosting a discussion about his iOS 8.4.1 jailbreak tool. According to the discussion, Apple will stop providing support to iOS 8.4.1 starting Monday, so users who have not downgraded to that version of iOS by then, will be out of luck.

iOS 9 patched up the vulnerabilities that were found in iOS 8.4.1, which means the jailbreak of iOS 8.4.1 was fixed in iOS 9. iOS 9 was announced and released during Apple's special press event for the new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.

Keep an eye out for an iOS 9 jailbreak tool, which should be coming soon with the release of iOS 9.1.
