The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 could have a very thin bezel on its display panel, meaning that the actual screen will take up most of the display panel, leaving very small edges on the sides of the device.

WinBeta reports that the upcoming Surface Pro 4 will have a design similar to the Dell XPS 13 with very little bezel around the edge of the display. Looking straight at the screen, it will appear as if there is no bezel on the top and sides of the screen. The bezel will only be noticeable on the bottom of the laptop/tablet combination device.

The next Surface Pro is likely to be similar to the Surface Pro 3 because Microsoft wants previous accessories to work with this new model. The screen will likely stay at 12 inches so that the keyboard cases from previous versions will still work with the Surface Pro 4.

The processor used in the Surface Pro 4 could either be the Intel Skylake Core M chip, which is designed for mobile devices like tablets, or the more powerful Intel Core i series chip, which is used in traditional laptops, Tech Radar reports.

Apple recently announced the new iPad Pro, which has an ultra-large 12.9-inch screen. Less reliable rumors point to Microsoft countering with a 14-inch screen for the Surface Pro 4. This larger Surface Pro 4 would also have a 4K resolution screen and could have up to 16GB of RAM.

The Surface Pro 4 will be offered in different storage options starting with 64GB and increasing to 128GB, 256GB and 500GB.

In the newest version of the device, Microsoft will also probably fix the problems that plagued the Surface Pro 3, including overheating and an average battery life.

The official specs and release date for the Surface Pro 4 are likely coming soon. Microsoft has a special event on Oct. 6 where they will announce new Windows 10 units, likely including the Surface Pro 4.
