'The Daily Show' After Jon Stewart: Trevor Noah Compares Trump to African Dictators [Watch]
"The Daily Show" host Trevor Noah has a funny bone to pick with republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. Particularly with his choice of words and his decrees on the campaign trail.
Noah took some of Trumps greatest blunders, or zingers as popular comedy acts have frequently called them, and corresponded them to leaders from his own country and continent.
Some of the most interesting bits in particular are his infamous comments about immigrants while his campaign was still in its infancy over the summer. In carefully presented videos displayed on the show last night, Noah made a quick joke out of something that is poignantly true to life.
The video showed remarks made by Trump, which most have found controversial and dehumanizing to various groups in the U.S., then synced up other videos from the head's of state in African countries, including Noah's very own South Africa President Jacob Zuma.
One of the most telling parts of the segment was when he compared Trump's remarks to those of Zuma, who both made the same comments about immigrants.
Although the comments were not previously said by these controversial leaders and dictators verbatim, they still had a striking resemblance to Trump's own words.
Noah also capitalized on Trump's ego by making light of the fact that most people have said that he is not presidential. Noah quickly retorted that the debate stages that Trump stands on are not in fact fit for Trump, expounding on the fact that there were no escalators or women wearing gold around him.
He also cashed in on Trump's claims about being smart and blessed with wealth, which is also what Uganda President Idi Amin Dada said.
In the climax of the segment, Noah said that Trump is very presidential -- he's just running in the wrong continent, showing a graphic of oppressed African countries.
