NBA 2K14 Locker Codes, Cheats & Mods: Are Next-Gen Versions Really That Much Better Than Xbox 360, PS3 Versions?
NBA 2K14 on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 certainly differs from the same game on the next-gen Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles, but are the differences really that significant?
It has been said that the next-gen game has fared better but some of the differences don't have much to do with which one is better and which one is worse; rather, some of the differences just have to do with the swapping of game modes and other related features.
As Ryan McCaffrey said in a review for IGN, "Though it bears the same name, NBA 2K14 on next-gen is, in fact, a totally different package than the one that released in October for PS3 and Xbox 360. Instead of the LeBron Path to Greatness and Crews, the next-gen version introduces several new modes (and a refreshingly simplified redesign of the menus). Notably, MyCareer has you create a player and take him through a everything from a pre-draft showcase to Draft Night to working your way up from benchwarmer to starter.
Perhaps the Path to Greatness was phased out because the game already had the star's name and face on the cover -- maybe a little too much LeBron there -- but it also could have been related to the fact that the developers may not have had enough time to incorporate it into the next-gen version. Remember, the 360 and PS4 versions of the game were released in October while the next-gen consoles hit the shelves just a month later. This understandably made for an interesting combination of video game release dates.
In other news, Ronnie 2K is still rolling out more locker codes and you can find these on his Twitter account. These come out in limited time slots and the most recent locker codes to be released were on March 3.
Which version of the game do you think is the best? Do you think that one really is better than the other or is it fairly equal in comparison? Feel free to let us know what you think in the comments section located below.
