Huawei is reportedly hard at work on its upcoming flagship smartphone dubbed as the "Huawei P9." Thanks to a recent social media leak, one of the device's rumored features has been revealed.

Steve Hemmerstoffer, aka the renowned tech leaker @OnLeaks, posted a photo of the P9's rumored panels on his official Twitter account over the weekend.

What's interesting is one panel was branded "LTE" while "Delux" was printed on the other. The labels suggested that the P9 might come in two different variants or more.

At any rate, both panels paraded the same dual-camera, LED flash unit and a cutout that hints the possibility of laser autofocus, GSM Arena reported.

Two rear-facing units on one mobile device have become an intriguing novelty these days. The latest leak seems to corroborate with prior predictions claiming smartphone manufacturers are willing to dabble their own a dual-back camera offering to the test the feature's consumer demand.

Samsung was supposedly intent on fitting the said feature on the upcoming Galaxy S7. However, the company's grasp on the technology is still in its infancy. Mass production of the dual back camera component is set to finish by the end of 2015 while the Galaxy S7 is rumored to be unveiled in January 2016, as per Uber Gizmo.

It's worth mentioning that future Samsung flagships could still be outfitted with the technology, but only at a later date, most probably in mid-2016.

Devices that have attempted to test the market for the dual back camera feature are the HTC One M8 and the recently announced LG V10. Where it currently stands, the feature hasn't been a smash hit just yet. Perhaps, Samsung or Huawei's approach might turn things around for dual-back camera devices.

The explanation behind the setup is simple. It works basically like the human eye. Having two eyes means a wider range of sight and a greater depth of field. A mobile devices with two rear camera units can capture images akin to that of DSLR cameras.

Other rumored specs of the Huawei P9 was also reported over the week.

According to Mobile-dad, via WCCF Tech, the P9 will run on the company's own Kirin 950, a chipset more advanced than the Exynos 7420.

The device will allegedly have a 5.2-inch screen with a 1080p resolution touchscreen display, a 16-megapixel rear camera sensor and 4GB of RAM.
