Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift Feud Picking up Steam After 'SNL' Diss?
Taylor Swift is rumored to be planning to retaliate against Miley Cyrus over a "Saturday Night Live" skit over the weekend that mercilessly dissed her growing friend group.
Hollywood Life reports, though Cyrus wasn't directly a part of the skit, the bit seemed to have her fingerprints all over it, given her recent criticisms of the "Bad Blood" singer.
Cyrus recently told The New York Times, "I'm not trying to be in the squad. None of my friends are famous and not because of any other reason than I just like real people who are living real lives. Because I'm inspired by them."
That salvo, coupled with Cyrus' latest suspected actions on "SNL," may now be enough to register as fighting words to Swift.
"It's hardly coincidental that Taylor was parodied in an episode hosted by Miley," said a source. "[Taylor] hopes that she will get her chance to cleverly deliver a retort when it's her turn to host again."
It's been a rough stretch as of late for Swift, who was also recently dissed by One Direction band member Niall Horan. During a recent segment of "One Direction In One Minute" on "Capital FM," it took Horan far less than the allotted 60 seconds to decide Swift was less talented than her rival Katy Perry.
Meanwhile, Cyrus and Swift's feud dates back to earlier this summer, when the former "Hannah Montana" star posted pics of Swift and Justin Bieber online with their faces swapped, alongside the caption, "If you face swap Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift, they look like a cute lesbian couple."
Previously, reports surfaced that Cyrus holds a grudge against Swift for "stealing" her chance to perform with Paul McCartney at the "SNL" 40th anniversary show.
